Dressing Tables
A floating dressing table does two jobs. With a mirror above it, it is a vanity; without one, it is a compact desk. Because it is wall-hung there are no legs to work around, so a chair or stool tucks fully underneath and the floor stays clear.
Each unit is built to order with solid French Oak or Kiaat drawer fronts over a painted carcass, in Satin White, Satin Light Grey, Satin Dark Grey or Flat Black. Widths range from compact units for a guest room to full dressers for a main bedroom, and sizes can be adjusted to your wall — talk to us before ordering. Free installation in Gauteng when you choose delivery.

Floating dressing tables: a buying guide
A floating dressing table is a wall-hung vanity with drawers and, on most Timbur models, a mirror built in. Because nothing stands on the floor, a stool or chair tucks fully underneath and the same unit doubles as a compact desk. Timbur makes six wall-hung dressing tables and dressers from 500 mm to 1,200 mm wide, and four freestanding dressers and consoles up to 1,500 mm wide, all built to order in Lanseria with solid French Oak or Kiaat drawer fronts over a cabinet sprayed in Satin White, Satin Light Grey, Satin Dark Grey or Flat Black. As of November 2026 they run from R3,995 to R9,595; current prices are on each product page and in the table below.
Which width?
Measure the wall first, then allow at least 600 mm of clear width for a stool to sit in front. The ONE Mini Dresser at 500 mm suits a guest room or a wall beside a cupboard; the ONE Midi at 800 mm is the compact everyday choice; the ONE and Drakensberg at 1,200 mm give a full vanity with two drawers either side of the knee space. The Strand Floating Dresser (1,040 mm) and Strand Compact trade the mirror for slatted panels and extra drawer storage.
Floating or freestanding?
Choose wall-hung when you want the floor clear and the unit set at exactly your height. Choose a freestanding dresser when you rent, when the wall is uncertain, or when the piece will also serve as an entrance console: the Easy Dresser/Entrance Table, the all-timber Easy Solid Dresser and the 1,500 mm Haenertsburg Console all stand on their own frames at 780 mm high.
Mirror, lighting and cables
The ONE, ONE Midi, ONE Mini and Drakensberg dressing tables include the mirror. Drawer boxes on the ONE range are ported at the back so a hairdryer or straightener cable runs out of sight; if you want a plug point behind the unit, have it fitted before installation. The ONE and ONE Midi can be ordered with push-to-open drawers (no handles) or standard runners with matte black handles.
Walls and installation
Wall-hung units mount to drywall, brick or concrete with the included brackets and fixings, provided the wall is sound. In Gauteng, installation is included when you choose delivery at checkout and the team sets the height to suit you. Elsewhere in South Africa the unit ships with DIY instructions.
Dressing table questions, answered
Does a floating dressing table come with a mirror?
Yes on the ONE, ONE Midi, ONE Mini and Drakensberg floating dressing tables. The Strand floating dressers and the freestanding Easy and Haenertsburg consoles are supplied without a mirror.
How high is a floating dressing table mounted?
At the height you choose. Most people set the top at normal desk height, around 740 to 760 mm, so a standard stool or chair fits underneath; the installation team in Gauteng sets it on the day.
Can I use a floating dressing table as a desk?
Yes. With the mirror above it is a vanity; the 1,200 mm ONE and Drakensberg give a full desk-width surface with drawers either side, and the drawers are ported at the back for cables.
What widths are available?
Wall-hung: 500 mm (ONE Mini), 800 mm (ONE Midi), 1,040 mm (Strand Floating Dresser) and 1,200 mm (ONE and Drakensberg). Freestanding: 1,200 mm (Easy Dresser and Easy Solid Dresser) and 1,500 mm (Haenertsburg Console). Custom widths are often possible if you ask before ordering.
How much does a floating dressing table cost in South Africa?
As of November 2026, Timbur's floating dressing tables cost between R3,995 for the ONE Mini Dresser and R8,495 for the Drakensberg Floating Dressing Table, with the ONE at R7,495 and the ONE Midi at R6,595. The current price is on each product page.
Which walls can it be mounted on?
Drywall, brick or concrete, provided the fixings suit the wall type and the wall is sound enough to carry the unit. Brackets and fixings are included. Tell us what your wall is made of before ordering if you are unsure.
How long does it take, and do you install it?
Every piece is handmade to order in Lanseria; the current lead time is 9 to 11 weeks including the December closure, then delivery 3 to 7 working days after manufacturing. In Gauteng, installation is included with delivery. Elsewhere in South Africa, delivery is quoted at checkout and the unit ships with fixings and DIY instructions.
