Timbur is a solid wood furniture manufacturer in Johannesburg. Every piece is made to order in our own workshop at 11 Middel Road, Sunrella, Lanseria, on the north-western edge of the city, and delivered and installed in your home by our team. We do not resell imported furniture: the French Oak and Kiaat is cut, the cabinets are sprayed and the drawers are fitted here, by the people who will later hang the headboard on your wall.
What we make
Floating headboards and headboard and pedestal combos, bedside pedestals (wall-hung and freestanding), floating dressing tables, chests of drawers, wall-mounted and freestanding TV units, sideboards and dining room servers, home office desks and solid oak dining tables. Drawer fronts and tops are solid French Oak or Kiaat; cabinets are sprayed in Satin White, Satin Light Grey, Satin Dark Grey or Flat Black. Because each piece is built after you order, widths can usually be adjusted to your wall.
Where in Johannesburg we deliver and install
Installation is included with delivery anywhere in Gauteng. From Lanseria the team reaches most of Johannesburg within an hour: Fourways, Dainfern, Lonehill, Kyalami and Midrand (about 20 to 30 km); Bryanston, Sandton, Rivonia, Morningside and Rosebank (about 30 to 40 km); Randburg, Northcliff, Linden, Greenside and Parkhurst (about 25 to 35 km); Roodepoort, Krugersdorp and Honeydew (about 20 to 30 km); Bedfordview, Edenvale, Germiston and Alberton (about 50 to 60 km); and the southern suburbs. Wall-hung pieces are mounted on the day, set to your bed or seating height, with the fixings for your wall type. Freestanding pieces arrive assembled.
Visiting the workshop
Workshop visits are by appointment, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:30. You can see the timbers and the four cabinet colours on finished pieces, check a drawer runner, and measure a headboard against your bed size. Lanseria is about 35 minutes from Sandton via the N1 and R512 and about 20 minutes from Fourways; the workshop is five minutes from Lanseria International Airport. How ordering works
- Choose the piece, bed size, timber and cabinet colour on the product page, or email us the wall measurements if you need a custom width.
- Pay online. Your piece joins the workshop schedule; the current lead time is on the lead times page and on every product page.
- We call to arrange a delivery and installation date when the piece is finished. Delivery is quoted at checkout; see delivery and installation.
- On the day the team mounts wall-hung pieces, levels them, and takes the packaging away. Everything is covered by the warranty.

Where is Timbur's workshop?
At 11 Middel Road, Sunrella, Lanseria, Gauteng, 1739, about 35 minutes north-west of Sandton and five minutes from Lanseria International Airport. Visits are by appointment on weekdays between 08:30 and 16:30.
Do you deliver and install in Johannesburg?
Yes. Installation is included with delivery anywhere in Gauteng, which covers all of Johannesburg from Fourways and Sandton to Roodepoort, Bedfordview and the southern suburbs. Wall-hung headboards, pedestals, dressing tables and TV units are mounted on the day of delivery.
Is the furniture made in Johannesburg or imported?
Made in Johannesburg. Every piece is built to order in Timbur's own Lanseria workshop from solid French Oak or Kiaat and sprayed PG Bison MDF; nothing is imported finished.
Can I see the furniture before I order?
Yes, by appointment at the Lanseria workshop, where finished pieces, timber samples and the four cabinet colours are on hand. Book on 072 473 0380 or info@timbur.co.za.
Can I collect my order instead of paying for delivery?
Yes. Collection from the Lanseria workshop is free by appointment with two working days' notice. Collected wall-hung pieces come with brackets, fixings and mounting instructions.
Do you make custom sizes?
Often, yes. Because each piece is made to order, widths and some heights can be adjusted to your wall or bed. Send the measurements to info@timbur.co.za before ordering.
