Every piece of Timbur furniture is covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase. If a piece is faulty or defective and has been used as intended and cared for, we repair it at no charge. Furniture is made for residential use; commercial or industrial use is not covered.
What the warranty covers
- Manufacturing defects in the cabinet, drawers, runners, frame, fixings and finish, for 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Incorrect or incomplete items delivered: tell us straight away, keep the labels and packaging on, and we arrange collection for repair or replacement.
- Damage in transit, when it is noted on the delivery slip and reported to us within 24 hours. Return transport is arranged by us at no charge once the damage is confirmed.
What it does not cover
- Wear from normal use, or damage from misuse, overloading, moisture, heat, or fixing a wall-hung piece to a wall that could not carry it.
- Natural variation in solid French Oak, Kiaat and Ash. Grain, colour and knots differ from piece to piece and from the photographs. This is the nature of solid timber, not a defect.
- Furniture used in commercial, hospitality or industrial settings.
- Pieces modified, repaired or refinished by anyone other than Timbur.
How to make a claim
- Email service@timbur.co.za or call 079 909 4706 with your order number, a description of the problem and photographs.
- We assess the claim and tell you whether it is a repair at our workshop, a repair at your home, or a replacement.
- Where a defect or transit damage is confirmed, we arrange and pay for the collection and return.
Returns and cancellations
Timbur furniture is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it is defective, damaged or different from what you ordered. Cancellations carry a 15% fee; once timber and materials have been bought for your order, the fee is 50%. Full terms are in our returns policy and terms of service.
Warranty questions
How long is the Timbur warranty?
Twelve months from the date of purchase, against manufacturing defects, for furniture used in a home.
Is a knot or colour variation in the timber a defect?
No. Solid French Oak, Kiaat and Ash vary in grain, colour and knots from board to board. Every piece is unique and will differ from the product photographs.
What if my furniture arrives damaged?
Inspect it before you sign the delivery slip, note any damage on the slip, and email service@timbur.co.za within 24 hours with photographs. Confirmed transit damage is collected and repaired or replaced at no charge.
Can I return a piece I no longer want?
Made-to-order furniture is final sale unless it is defective, damaged or not what you ordered. Cancellations before manufacture carry a 15% fee, or 50% once materials have been bought.
Does the warranty cover furniture in an office, hotel or restaurant?
No. Timbur furniture is guaranteed for residential use only. Contact us before ordering for a commercial space.
